The Consultant advised us that Isaac may not still be with us by the weekend, and so we attempted to put our distress and upset on hold in order to support our children, and to maximise our time with our precious little son. We had decided to go to Derian House Hospice in Chorley (Victoria had visited here previously, just in case). The staff at the K2 ward in Alder Hey Hospital were amazing, and ensured that we were moved as quickly as possible, with at least one member of staff staying well past her hours and accompanying Isaac and Victoria in the ambulance. So we arrived at Derian House on Wednesday evening, tired, hungry and in shock.
